You see, when weaving a blanket, an Indian woman leaves a flaw in the weaving of that blanket to let the soul out. — Martha Graham

As Rumi says it is through the cracks, the holes, the wounds where the light enters. The soul emerges the same way.

It is when our life urges us to ask questions, when our armor has been chipped; the soul emerges.

If we are habitually distracted by the outside world our soul will create situations where our flaws and wound reveal itself.

Be aware of established habitual patterns; shining a conscious light upon them dissolves the generational familial, familiar landmines.

These windows of opportunity for growth may be called evolutionary growth opportunities whose acronym is EGO. The ego perceives anything that causes pain or suffering as mistakes.

The soul knows better; coming up against our flaws and mistakes opens portals and venues for new potentials to burst forth.

It is the doorway to the higher realms unseen where our immortal essence resides. The obstacle is the discomfort, the parting from the ways of the world, the discarded status quo, the people left behind.

The soul has no concern for the ego, habits, conditioning, and old programming, only the ego holds on. There is a perception about the spiritual path being all about zen, soft voices, calm, harmony, peace.

There are definitely moments of residing in the heart and soul that grow into minutes, days and longer periods of time depending upon our determination and attention.

Awakening to the reality of existence and the illusion of the ways of the world is a definite jarring roller coaster ride full of mystery and madness…wouldn’t you say?

Enjoy the ride,

Suzen
